INTERCESSORY

P.R.A.Y.E.R

As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right.

1 Samuel 12:23

PRAYER

ENCOUNTER GOD THROUGH PRAYER

POWER AND IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER

COMMUNICATION IN PRAYER

Prayer is a profound dialogue between you and God. It transcends mere requests; it is a heartfelt expression of gratitude, a moment for confessing sins, and an opportunity to connect with God in worship and adoration.

  • Philippians 4:6-7: Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

  • James 5:16: Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

POSTURE

God cherishes your heart more than your eloquence. You don’t need elaborate words or grand gestures. Instead, approach prayer with true sincerity, humility, and a genuine heart.

  • Matthew 6:5-8: “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

CONFIDENT FAITH

Trust that God hears you and can answer your prayers, even if it’s not how you expect. Don’t give up. Keep praying with faith and rely on God’s timing.

  • Matthew 7:7-11: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

  • Mark 11:24: Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

PRAYER WITH SUBSTANCE

Embrace the opportunity to pray for your needs, for others, and for God's will to be fulfilled. Courageously bring everything to God, from daily concerns to larger worries.

  • Philippians 4:6: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

  • Matthew 6:9-13: “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.’

THE POWER OF PRAYER

The power of prayer offers comfort, guidance, and the possibility of healing. While it may not guarantee that God answers every prayer as we hope, we can find strength in knowing that His will always prevails.

  • James 5:15-16: And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
